November 13, 2017:
The rise of the UK’s Build to Rent sector was a key focus of this year’s UK Apartment Association (UKAA) Conference.
With Build to Rent being one of National Regional Property Group’s key specialisms, CEO Shaun Adams went along to join the debate.
There are now 95,918 Build to Rent homes complete, under construction and in planning across the UK. Members of the UKAA now represent over 40% of the existing Build to Rent stock.
Shaun Adams, CEO of National Regional Property Group, said: “The conference provided the right opportunity for those of us specialising in Build to Rent to get together and share our experiences and best practice. The feeling in the room really affirmed what we’ve been saying for some time, that Build to Rent is going to become an increasingly important in the UK property mix.”
The day featured talks from a variety of speakers, covering topics such as local authority Build to Rent and amenity income. Among those to take to the stage were experts from Acorn PRS, The Property Redress Scheme and the UKAA itself.
National Regional Property Group brought to Southampton its first Build to Rent scheme earlier this year. Bow Square, managed by Atlas Residential, will provide high quality rental accommodation for almost 280 households once complete.
Shaun said: “We’ve been thrilled with the success of Bow Square and this week’s conference was a good opportunity to share news of it with our industry peers. With the first residents now settled in at the development, we’re already looking at other sites across the UK where we can replicate its success.”
